NEET Exam 2024 Complete Overview

NEET 2024 will be conducted on May 5, 2024. The NEET application form 2024 is likely to be released in the third week of January 2024. Medical aspirants planning to appear for the NEET exam for the next academic year must be thorough with the NEET 2024 syllabus comprising three subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Topics covered in these three subjects from Class 10 to Class 12 will be included in the NEET UG syllabus. Hence, students who are also preparing for their Board exams can go for a common preparation in the initial phases.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.

NEET UG EXAM IS CONDUCTED BY THE NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY (NTA) EVERY YEAR.

This time also this exam will be conducted only by the NTA.

SUBJECT SUMMARY OF NEET EXAM

As NEET is one of the toughest competitive exams, aspirants should have an idea about the topic-wise syllabus for NEET 2024. They should know how many questions would be asked from which topic of the particular subject, or the NEET subject-wise weightage. NEET 2024 syllabus will comprise three subjects, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. A maximum number of questions will be asked from Biology which will be further divided into Zoology and Botany. It is very important for a candidate to know the syllabus of NEET as per topics. They should know how many topics are there in each subject so that they can allocate time accordingly. Knowing the topic-wise NEET exam syllabus will help the candidate to build their confidence and they don't get nervous at the last moment of preparation. From Physics, topics like Optics, Electrostatics, Thermodynamics, etc have high weightage while in Biology, subjects, Genetics and Evolution, and Human Physiology are high weightage topics.

MARKS DISTRIBUTION

The NEET UG Syllabus 2024 covers topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with a major portion from important topics in the classes 11th and 12th. The syllabus is divided into three sections:

Physics - 45 Questions
Chemistry - 45 Questions
Biology - 90 Questions (45 of Botany + 45 of Zoology)

The total number of questions to be asked in exam is 200, out of which 180 questions need to be answered. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

REDUCED SYLLABUS

EXAM PATTERN OF NEET 2024

The NEET 2024 exam will be a pen-paper-based test (PBT) of 3 hours and 20 minutes duration.
The question paper will be divided into two sections: Section A and Section B.
